THE BEAT MERCHANTS - PRETTY FACE

Hailing from suburban Sussex (south of London), this group released THIS; one of the most fierce English r&b singles of the 60's.

The group was popular enough in the south coast area to have their choice of signing to either Decca or Columbia, but this single only scraped into the UK top 50. Perhaps it was just TOO raw and too ahead of its time.

The group only stuck around long enough to cut one more single, the relatively subdued "So Fine".
